Paint & Ink 

Wet-milling technology has been revolutionised by WAB with the development of its horizontal agitator bead mill: It allows very fine particle distributions down to nanometre size to be achieved – with maximum milling efficiency. With its world famous DYNO®-MILL, WAB is the undisputed specialist in dispersion and wet-milling technology.

Contaminated solvents or disolver (organic, flammable or aqueous) can be reclaimed or recovered by distillation and subsequent condensation. OFRU Recycling offers a wide range of distillation plants for this recycling purpose.

Engineering Plastic

The properties of engineering plastics make them indispensable in the construction of vehicles and machinery, power and electrical engineering, domestic installation and for sport and leisure articles. The processing ranges from coloring and alloying of base polymers right through to incorporating organic and inorganic fillers and reinforcing materials.

Powder Coating

Powder coating applies as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference in comparison to a conventional liquid paint is that powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form.

Coperion offers high-end extrusion technology for the production of first-class powder coating. Due to their excellent mixing behavior and the gentle product handling these lines are characterized by absolutely homogeneous distribution of the paint components in the powder.

Premixed raw materials are fed into the twin screw extruder ZSK Mv PLUS via a volumetric feeder. They are processed within the ZSK Mv PLUS
which operates extremely flexible. The speed, residence time and throughput rate can be adapted quickly and individually to your requirements. Processing of high percentage of fines is possible with optimized process set-up.

Hot Melt Adhesive Industries

Using Coperion's ZSK twin screw extruders to produce hot melt adhesives and pressure sensitive adhesives allows the use of a wide range of different recipe components and ensures consistently high product quality without batch-to-batch variations. Hot melt adhesives are applied while hot and molten. A functional binding is formed when the adhesive cools and solidifies. Pressure sensitive adhesives are highly viscous, permanently tacky substances that are applied by pressure to a substrate.

Whether it is designing single components or integrating elaborate systems, Nordson has the ability to provide engineered solutions that take your Hot Melt application to its maximum level of performance.

Detergent Industries

Laundry detergent production is typically a continuous process. There are a large number of ingredients which must be continuously, simultaneously and accurately fed into a mixer or onto a conveyor belt, which in turn supplies the continuous mixer.

The Coperion K-Tron SmartWeigh Belt (SWB) feeder is the perfect solution for a compact gravimetric feeder which can handle large volumes of bulk material with different flow characteristics. The SWB feeder offers continuous online taring by using two weigh modules. Automatic and continuous online taring of the weigh belt reduces costly maintenance, line shutdowns and laborious manual calibration while at the same time substantially improving long term accuracy and stability.

Plant protection products are chemical or biological active substances that protect plants from harmful organisms or prevent them from impacting plants. Plant protection products are classified into three main categories: Herbicides, Insecticides, Fungicides Modern wet milling allows a simple and dust-free handling of all types of active substances.

The DYNO®-MILL agitator bead mills can easily mill large quantities of your plant protection products to the desired particle size. Our machines can also process fibrous products without clogging the separation system.

The properties of food products can be specifically improved by milling. The results are :
  • fine chocolate with great aromas
  • natural colourants with high colour intensity
  • milled suspensions with good storage stability 
Wet milling is used in the production of many foodstuffs for refinement purposes. Above all, the goal is a hygienic and at the same time economical production.

Milling of natural food colourants allows higher colour intensities and more homogeneous colourings. This gives liquid forms – such as beverages – an appealing appearance. Unwanted sedimentations can often be reduced or even eliminated. Ultra-fine or nano-level milling of hard pigments will stretch machines of older designs to their limits. Not however our DYNO®-MILL agitator bead mills for food technology applications: They offer a wide range of solutions.

In the following applications, wet milling technology makes a significant contribution to improving key properties and is the only way to manufacture high-quality products. The TURBULA® and dyna-MIX® mixers are used in all industries, in research and development and in production, where highest demands on mixture homogeneity and short mixing times are required.

Our highly specialized products SiLiglit and SiLibeads have traditionally been produced ever since in Germany at the Warmensteinach company site by using processes of our own design and development. 

When cleaning production plants, containers and tools, etc., organic, flammable and increasingly aqueous solvents are used. After cleaning, these are heavily soiled and usually have to be disposed of at high cost. OFRU Recycling is dedicated to this problem and manufactures systems with which contaminated cleaning liquids can be reprocessed in the company's own facilities. The advantage of the own treatment is that purchase, disposal and storage costs can be considerably reduced.
